What we collect
- Emails you send us. Your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
- Contact form. The form on our contact page runs in your browser. It does not transmit data to us; it only formats text for you to copy or download.
- Browser storage. Checklist progress is saved in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device. See our Browser Storage page.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time, for security and fault-finding.
Why and on what basis
We use emails to reply to you, based on our legitimate interest in answering reader questions. Server logs are processed for our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working. We do not sell personal data, run advertising profiles or use it for automated decision-making.
How long we keep it
Emails are kept for up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days unless needed to investigate a security incident.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who host the site and our email, under contracts that require them to protect it, or where the law requires it. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and request portability. Email us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd appreciate the chance to resolve concerns first.

We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date above.
